Mandatory Safety Training — A Legal Requirement for All Scaffolding Workers
Under Article 140 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and its enforcement rules, all workers involved in scaffolding assembly and dismantling are legally required to complete authorized safety and skill training before performing such tasks. To meet these national regulatory requirements, the Korea Scaffolding Institution (KSI) provides the official 8-hour Skill Acquisition Training for Workers, covering essential knowledge and practical techniques for safe scaffolding operations. Upon completing this program, participants are formally recognized as qualified scaffolding workers under Korean law and are permitted to engage in scaffolding erection and dismantling at construction or industrial sites.
